KANO GOVERNMENT SUPPORT STRANDED CITIZENS WITH FOODSTUFFS, CASH DONATIONS                                                                                                                                  29-07-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                The Kano State Government has demonstrated its commitment to supporting its citizens in need, with the distribution of foodstuff and cash donations to 49 indigenes who were stranded in Ghana and later evacuated and rehabilitated by the state government.

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, represented by the Commissioner of Information, Baba Halilu Dantiye, urged the returnees to be cautious against illegal movements outside Nigeria.

The governor’s magnanimity was evident in the provision of food items and cash to help the returnees start a new life and plan for their future.

Commissioner for Humanitarian and Poverty Alleviation, Hajiya Amina Sani, confirmed that the returnees underwent medical certification before being handed over to their families.

She warned that the government would sanction any deportee who took the provided opportunities for granted and advised parents to be cautious when giving their children in marriage to individuals outside the country.

The returnees expressed gratitude to the governor and the people of Kano for their love and mercy, praying for success at all levels.
