MASS WEDDING: HISBAH CG EXPRESSES SATISFACTION WITH QUALITY OF FURNITURE FOR MASS WEDDING                                                                06-10-23

By Sadiq Aminu                                                           The commander general Kano state hisbah board Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa has expressed satisfaction with the quality of furnitures procured for the upcoming mass wedding.

Sheikh Aminu made the indication while inspecting the items at various locations within the state metropolis.

According to him, the state government under the leadership of Engineer Abba Kabir Yusuf had set a criteria for the selection of house hold items to ensure good quality.

He pointed out that, items include furnitures, food items, clothing materials, dowry and start up capital, to make them self reliant.

The commander general maintained that,1,800 intending couples would benefit, from the mass wedding which is slated for October 2023.

He highlighted that, the items would be conveyed to all the 44 local government areas, where beneficiaries would receive from their local government chairmen.

Sheikh Aminu hinted that,over 4,000 people registered but 1,800 were selected for the 1st round, across the 44 local government areas.

He stressed that, the mass wedding was introduced as part of efforts, to reduce poverty as many weddings were cancelled or postponed due to lack of resources.

Africa 247 reports that, the mass wedding was introduced during the second tenure of Kano state former governor Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, while another one was conducted under the leadership of former governor Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
