Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has flagged off the ₦5.14 billion dualisation of Abdulsalami Road in Jega Local Government Area.

The project aims to upgrade the old single carriageway into a dual carriageway with proper drainage and solar streetlights. It will be executed by an indigenous contractor and completed within 12 months.

Governor Idris said the total cost includes ₦3.58 billion for main works, ₦72 million for relocating water pipes, and ₦1.48 billion for compensating affected structures. He assured that funds are fully provided and that only competent contractors were engaged to ensure quality delivery.

He also highlighted ongoing projects across Kebbi, including the renovation of Jega Hospital, upgrades of nine general hospitals, completion of 47 primary healthcare centres, and rehabilitation of schools.

The Sarkin Kabin Jega, Alhaji Muhammad Arzika, thanked the governor for bringing development to the area.
