PRESIDENT TINUBU RETURNS TO ABUJA FROM QATAR WHERE HE SIGNS MULTIPLE BILATERAL AGREEMENTS                                                               04-03-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                       The agreements signed were on co-operation in the field of education, regulation of employment of workers with the Government of Qatar, establishment of a joint business council between the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture, in addition to a co-operation on youth and sports.

The other agreements reached were co-operation on tourism and business events, and a memorandum of understanding combating illicit trade in narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.

President Tinubu also attended the Nigeria-Qatar Business and Investment Forum in Doha, where he pledged to remove all bottlenecks standing in the way of profitable and legitimate enterprise.

The President assured international business community that Nigeria was ready for serious business, and urged them to expose government officials demanding a bribe or any form of inducement at any point in their business endeavours.

While assuring the international business community of direct access to the President’s office to aly their complaints, warned that his administration would deal decisively with any and all entrenched interests in the country, who would seek to undermine investor confidence in the Nigerian economy.

The President was received on arrival by relevant senior government officials.
