NASARAWA STATE GOVERNMENT STRENGTHENS GRASSROOTS SECURITY, DISMISSES 2027 ENDORSEMENT CLAIMS                                                                                                                        27-03-25

By Sadiq Aminu                                                        The Nasarawa State Government has adopted a community-based strategy to enhance collaboration with security agencies and grassroots leaders, aiming to foster sustainable peace in rural areas and drive development.

Speaking at a press briefing in Lafia, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Public Affairs, Peter Ahemba, emphasized the government’s commitment to building confidence among diverse communities. He highlighted the need to promote tolerance, forgiveness, and unity to create a stable environment for economic activities to thrive.

Ahemba urged traditional rulers, community leaders, and religious figures to establish result-oriented platforms for continuous engagement with the people. He stressed the importance of lawful conflict resolution, cautioning against resorting to violence over disputes.

On the political front, Ahemba dismissed claims that Governor Abdullahi Sule has anointed a successor for the 2027 governorship election. He reaffirmed that the governor remains focused on governance and will not be distracted by political speculations.

He also reiterated that the ban on electioneering campaigns for the 2027 general election remains in place. Civil servants and government appointees were urged to refrain from partisan politics or resign to prevent interference with government functions.
