POLICE ARRESTS SUSPECTED CHILD KIDNAPPERS IN KWARA                                                                                     17-05-25

By Sadiq Aminu                                                   Kwara State Police Command says it has apprehended a suspect over alleged child kidnapping in Ilorin.

In a statement the command Public Relations Officer , Adetoun Ejire -Adeyemi SP, says the suspect who claimed he was from Osun state was apprehended by a joint patrol team of police operatives and community vigilante members during a routine operation.

It explains that the suspect was rescued from a violent mob who had accused him of attempted kidnap of a child and were on the verge of executing jungle justice.

According to it the suspect is currently in police custody as investigations continue to ascertain the facts surrounding the allegations and identify other individuals who may be connected to the incident.

It notes that the Complainant(s) involved in the matter are yet to report at command headquarters to provide more information to aid police detectives in unraveling this incident.

The statement caution the general public against mob action and jungle justice, which is unlawful and may also result in the miscarriage of justice.
