The Senate has confirmed the four Service Chiefs nominated by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu after a thorough screening session.

During the exercise, lawmakers questioned the nominees on their strategies to tackle insecurity. Senate President Godswill Akpabio said members were satisfied with their responses and unanimously approved the appointments.

The new Service Chiefs, including the Chief of Defence Staff, Lt-Gen Olufemi Oluyede; Chief of Army Staff, Maj-Gen Waidi Shuaibu; Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Idi Abbas; and Chief of Air Staff, AVM Sunday Aneke, pledged to strengthen collaboration among security agencies and end the menace of terrorism and banditry.
