JAMB EXTENDS DEADLINE FOR 2025 UNIVERSITY ADMISSIONS

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has extended the deadline for admission into public universities from October 31 to November 17, 2025.

JAMB Spokesman, Fabian Benjamin, said the extension followed appeals from vice-chancellors after disruptions caused by a court order that was only lifted on October 28.

The decision also aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda as the National Universities Commission (NUC) recently approved 229 new programmes across 37 universities.

JAMB thanked institutions for their cooperation and stressed that this new date is final. The Board reaffirmed its commitment to a transparent and credible admission process in line with national education goals.
