ABUJA–KADUNA TRAIN DERAILS, PASSENGERS INJURED

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

Several passengers were injured on Monday after an Abuja-bound train to Kaduna derailed following a collision.

Managing Director of the Nigerian Railway Corporation, Kayode Opeifa, confirmed the incident, saying the train encountered the problem near Asham.

He said no deaths were recorded and injured passengers were taken back to the Idu station in Abuja for medical attention.

Authorities say an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the derailment.
