TOR TIV APPEALS TO POLITICAL AND COMMUNITY LEADERS IN SANKERA AXIS TO RESOLVE THEIR DIFFERENCES TO RESTORE PEACE IN THE AREA 06-07-24
By Sadiq Aminu The Tor Tiv, Prof James Ayatse has appealed to political and community leaders in the Sankera axis to come together and amicably resolve their differences to restore peace in the area.
The Tor Tiv who condemned in strong terms the recent carnage in Zaki Biam, stressed that the recent wanton destruction of lives and property has rather reduced the development and prosperity of the area.
In a statement by his Special Assistant on
Media and ICT, Freddie Adamgbe, the Paramount Ruler notes that the crisis has created a negative impression of the boisterous economic backbone of Benue that earned the State the acclaimed titled of the food basket of the nation.
The Begha u Tiv decries that despite all efforts made to restore peace in Sankera, the criminality had persisted and assured the people of the determination of Tiv Area Traditional Council, working in partnership with the Benue State Government, will employ all possible ways to stop further occurrence of mayhem in the area.
According to the statement, Tiv Area Traditional Council under his leadership of the Tor Tiv has concluded plans to meet with political, community leaders and youths in Sankera to find the root causes of the persistent unrest to restore permanent peace in the area.
The statement commends Governor Hyacinth Alia for prompt response to deploy security agencies to Sankera to stop the crisis.
