GOVERNOR KABIR YUSUF VOWS TO REVOLUTIONIZE EDUCATION IN KANO STATE                                                                    11-07-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                 The Kano State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to transforming the educational landscape into a more unified, inclusive, and responsive framework.

Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf made this clear at the inauguration of the two-day Kano State Education Recovery Conference held at Bayero University, Kano.

The conference, themed “Repositioning Education in Kano: Navigating the Path to Excellence”, was organized in collaboration with the Partnership for Learning for All in Nigeria (PLANE) and the Arewa Consultative Forum.

Governor Yusuf emphasized that education is a catalyst for communal, economic advancement, and prosperity, and not just a means to individual success.

The Governor highlighted his administration’s initiatives over the past year, including a 30% increase in budgetary allocation, construction and restoration of classrooms, payment of examination fees, recruitment of BESDA instructors, sponsorship of postgraduate scholars, and provision of instructional materials to schools across the state.

The conference aimed to formulate strategic interventions to rejuvenate and elevate the education sector in Kano State, ensuring access to quality education for all.

Participants engaged in discussions on education accessibility, quality, and parity, with a focus on Kano State, and advocated for policy enhancements and partnerships.
