GOVERNOR SOLUDO OF ANAMBRA CALLS FOR INCREASED COLLABORATION WITH THE NIGERIAN ARMY TO COMBAT CRIMINALITY                                                                      08-06-25

By Sadiq Aminu                                                       Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has called for increased collaboration between his administration and the Nigerian Army to combat criminality in the area.

Speaking at a special Sallah lunch to celebrate Eid-Al-Adah at the Onitsha Military Cantonment, Governor Soludo praised the Armed Forces and state vigilante groups for their tireless efforts in maintaining security.

“We celebrate and remember the sacrifices of everyone, including the pilgrims,” the Governor remarked.

The governor specifically acknowledged the successes recorded in areas like Ebonesie, Ihiala, and Lilu, and expressed solidarity with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Muslims, and Nigerians, hoping the Sallah period would bring about purification and progress.

“Let this Sallah period be a point of contact for general purification, encouraging those who are still loitering in camps to surrender and seek rehabilitation,”he said .

In a remark, Major General Adewale Adekeye noted that the Sallah celebration was an opportunity to reflect on the values that define the Nigerian army, including maintaining peace, harmony, and upholding law and order.

The event featured cultural displays from various Nigerian ethnic groups, showcasing the country’s rich diversity.
