FUEL SCARCITY BITES HARDER IN KWARA STATE                                                                                                                                           30-04-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                Fuel scarcity has continued to bite harder in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital and other parts of the state.

Africa 247 investigations revealed that fuel was sold at between N780 and 900 per liter in filling stations.

While the same quantity of fuel was sold at
N1,500 and N1,800 per litre at black markets in the metropolis.

It was also gathered that only few filling stations in the state have fuel to sell, with attendant long queues, while many of them had their stations closed.

Fewer vehicles, motorcycles and tricycles were also seen on the roads as both commercial and private vehicles desert the roads due to biting effect of fuel scarcity.

A commercial motorcycle and tricycle operators who did not want their name mentioned said they spent several hours queuing at filling stations to get fuel at few stations that had the commodity.

The fuel scarcity has led to astronomical increase of 50 per cent to 100 per cent in transport fare both in the interstate and intra transportation.
