By Sadiq Aminu                                                     Bandits have killed two people and carted away with unspecified numbers of caws in Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto state.

Speaking to Radio Nigeria in a telephone interview, the sole administrator of the local government,
Alh Garba Magaji Kaba confirmed the attack stressing that the gunmen launched the attack using motorcircles
with heavy weapons.

He regretted that the incursion of the bandits reached the heart of the historic city of Gobir close to the house of the traditional leader of the area known as the Sarkin gobir na Isa.

According to him, the joined task force in the area known as Operation Hadarin Daji had later moved in and rescued the area before the bandits make more damage.

In a related development, another set of bandits group launched attack in Tambuwal Local Government Area of Sokoto state near a motorpark, a day after the Sabon Birni local government attack.

An eye witness who did not want his name to be revealed told Radio Nigeria in a telephone interview that the bandits kidnapped one person and injured another who is currently receiving treatment at Usman Danfidiyo Teaching Hospital in the state.

The bandits have also carried out another attack at Maikujera village in Rabah Local Government Area of Sokoto state.

Also speaking to Radio Nigeria through a telephone interview an eye witness Lawalli Abdullahi said the bandits did not kill anyone in the attack but rustled significant number of caws and smaller animals at the Maikujera village.
