EDO STATE GOVERNOR-ELECT, SENATOR OKPEBHOLO, SAYS HE WILL PRIORITISE THE PROMOTION OF FUNCTIONAL EDUCATION                                                                      26-09-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                    The Edo State Governor-elect, Senator Monday Okpebholo, says he will prioritise the promotion of functional education in the list of developmental projects he intends to execute.

Senator Okpebholo stated this in Abuja while speaking with State House correspondents after he was led by some prominent APC members to meet with President Tinubu.

Regarding himself as a servant of the people of Edo State, Senator Okpebholo said he would strengthen his functional education drive with the employment of qualified and experienced teachers, and renovation of schools.

The Governor-elect appealed to the opposition to join hands with him to make Edo an enviable State.

He assured them and the entire people of the State that his doors would be opened for advice on the way forward.

One of the prominent APC members that led the Governor-elect to President Tinubu, Senator Adams Oshiomhole, described him as an empathetic fellow, who would transform the state appreciably.

He also appealed to the opposition to accept defeat and work with the incoming administration to better the lot of the people, stressing that Senator Okpebholo will always be ready to listen to them.

Senator Oshiomhole thanked the people of Edo State for giving Senator Okpebholo the mandate to serve them, urging them to give him all the support he requires to serve them better.
