SEVEN PERSONS ARE FEARED DEAD WHEN ASSAILANTS ATTACKED SECURITY OPERATIVES IN IHIALA ANAMBRA STATE                                                                               30-12-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                  Seven persons are feared dead when assailants attacked security Operatives in Ihiala Anambra state.

Among the dead were two unarmed passers-by.

In a release, the Police Public Relations officer of the command, Mr Tochukwu Ikenga, said the Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Nnaghe Itam had ordered an immediate manhunt of the assailants.

He explained that the Joint Security Team rescued one of the victims who was currently responding to treatment in a hospital.

The Police Image Maker pointed out that the CP,while on an on-the-spot assessment visit to the scene interviewed some eye witnesses of the incident.

He said Information had it that the armed men started shooting unstoppably at a venue where preparations were ongoing for a burial ceremony.

The PPRO said,while escaping the scene, the armed men shot at two Security Operatives at a security Observation Post close to the Local Government Headquaters by the Express Road.

Mr Ikenga said the,CP Mr Itam had extended his condolences to the families and friends, especially the good people of Ihiala over the sad incident and assured members of the public that the perpetrators of the heinous crime would be hunted down.
