Kano state house of assembly says, the tenth assembly would review and amend the state education law, which was passed in 1963, according to global standards.
The chairman house standing committee on education Alhaji Sulaiman Muktar Ishaq, made the disclosure, while receiving Kano state coordinator of Adolescent Girls Initiatives for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE), and the management team of the project, at kano state house of assembly.
He explained that, considering the incumbent administrations dedication in educational development, it has become imperative for KNHA to map out laws, aimed at promoting education.
Alhaji Mukhtar pointed out that,the committee would do everything possible to strenghthen cordial working relationship, with all relevant stakeholders in education, with a view to have sound and qualitative education in the State.
The chairman, assured the project coordinator, that the house would accord them all necessary support while discharging their responsibilities, and appealed to them to always ensure transparency and accountability.
Earlier in his remarks, the project coordinator, Alhaji Nasir Abdullahi Kwalli said, they were at the assembly to brief the house Standing Committee on education, on the journey so far concerning AGILE project.
He noted that, they are seeking the support of the assembly, on the project’s objectives in bringing succor to the lives of girls through education.
Nasiru Kwalli, solicited for the house cooperation, in moving the State forward, and commended the State government for prioritizing education, which he described as the gateway to societal development.
