BAUCHI STATE COMMISSIONER DIES IN A GHASTLY MOTOR ACCIDENT                                                                                                    03-05-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                 The Bauchi State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mallam Ahmed Aliyu Jalam popularly known as Maikankana has died in a road crash accident that occurred on Misau–Darazo road on Saturday, 1st of June, 2024

A statement by the Media Adviser to the Governor, Comrade Mukhtar Gidado, early hours of Sunday, said that the Commissner died as a result of a ghastly motor accident that occurred on Misau – Darazo highway leading to his immediate death.

He described the Commissioner as a dedicated public servant, whose commitment to the development and well-being of his local communities was unwavering.

The statement said Late Ahmed Jalam was known for his tireless work, integrity, and compassion for the people he served and his service will be remembered and cherished by all.

Comrade Gidado added that the state Governor Bala Muhammad, his cabinet, family and countless individual have felt the demised of the commissioner and extends deepest condolences to members of his immediate family and the entire people of the State.

The deceased was appointed in 2019 as commissioner of religious Affairs and orientation before redeployed to water resources and later ministry for local government and chieftaincy affairs in Governor’s second term.

Late Jalam will be buried today Sunday 2nd June, 2024 in his hometown, Jalam, Dambam local Government Area of Bauchi State.
