KANO STATE NUJ CORRESPONDENT CHAPEL LIFTS BAN ON GOVERNMENT COVERAGE                                                                           16-06-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                   The Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kano State Chapter, has lifted its ban on covering Kano State Government activities, effective immediately.

In a statement, Chairman Alhaji Aminu Ahmed Garko explained that the 14-day-old boycott was initiated to protest the government’s handling of issues affecting journalists and the profession.

The chapel realized that the boycott had unintended consequences, limiting their ability to inform the public and hold those in power accountable.

The NUJ Correspondent Chapel aim to resume reporting on government activities, ensuring the public is well-informed, while continuing to hold the government accountable for its actions.

The chapel appreciates public understanding and support, promising to rededicate themselves to their constitutional mandate.
