PRESIDENT TINUBU SAYS CIVIL SERVANTS IN DIASPORA STILL EARNING SALARIES BACK HOME WITHOUT FORMALLY RESIGNING WILL BE PUNISHED                                                                                                                   22-06-24

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu says civil servants who relocated abroad while still earnung salaries back home without formally resigning will be punished.

He said supervisors and heads of departments who shielded the absconders would also be punished.

President Bola Tinubu made the statement at the gala and award night organised by the Office of the head of the Civil Service of the Federation to mark the 2024 civil service week in Abuja.

The President who was represented by the secretary to the government of the Federation, Senator George Akume gave assurance of government’s commitment in empowering, and professionalizing human capital within the Civil Service.

The highlight of the event was the award presentation to 40 outstanding civil servants, 37 of them receiving Brand new cars and monetary rewards while the first three winners were given a parcel of land and a car.

The overall winner from the ministry of transportation, Mrs. Mercy Olanike, on behalf of the winners appreciated the award and beckoned on people to trust that the Civil service had been truly reformed

An eight paged Culture handbook detailing the essence and future of the federal civil service was unvieled and distributed at the event.
