SUPPER EAGLES: HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES URGES FG TO INVITE LIBYAN AMBASSADOR FOR INTERROGATION                                                                       15-10-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                   The house of Representatives has urged the Federal Government to Invite the Libyan Ambassador to Nigeria for interrogation on the inhumane treatment of the Nigerian National Team, Super Eagles when they were in Libya for the return Match of the 2025 AFCON Qualifiers.
This was sequel to an urgent matter of public importance by the Chairman House Committee on Sports, Kabiru Ahmadu.
The House urged the Nigerian Football Federation NFF, to officially present a letter of complain and inhumane treatment of the Super Eagles in Libya to the Confederation of African Football, CAF.
According to Mr. Ahmadu, Nigerian National Team and the crew were subjected to all forms of embarrassment including denial to access to Internet, accommodations and to leave the airport.
The Chairman House Committee on Sports explained that the Team and other crew members were stranded for eighteen hours before they eventually returned back to Nigeria.
Adopting the motion the House referred the motion to the relevant committees for further legislative actions.
