Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to promoting and supporting religious activities aimed at fostering peace and unity in the state.

The governor made this declaration while addressing thousands of worshippers at the 49th Annual Maulud Anniversary of Sheikh Ibrahim Nyass.

The event, held at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium in Bauchi, drew faithful from across the country and beyond.

In his remarks, Governor Mohammed lauded the Tijjaniya sect for their peaceful conduct, dedication to spiritual growth and contributions to societal harmony.

He urged the sect to continue praying for the peace, unity and development of Nigeria, stressing that religious harmony remains a cornerstone for national progress.

The governor also called on all citizens to join hands in building a stronger, more united nation through mutual respect and understanding across religious divides.

The event featured the Grand Khalifa of the Tijjaniya sect, Sheikh Muhammad Mahi Nyass, alongside the Emirs of Bauchi and Misau, as well as other dignitaries, including top government officials and community leaders.

Highlights of the Maulud celebration included the presentation of the history and teachings of Sheikh Ibrahim Nyass and the recitation of the Holy Quran.
