SHETTIMA: COLLABORATION KEY TO SKILLS REVOLUTION

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

Vice President Kashim Shettima says Nigeria can no longer afford to work in isolation in its drive for skills development. Speaking at the 7th National Council on Skills meeting in Abuja, he emphasized that collaboration across government, private sector, and institutions is vital to President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

Shettima commended Kaduna Governor Uba Sani for enrolling over 30,000 students in vocational training and for pioneering a state council on skills, urging other states to follow suit. He warned that friction and disunity in the skills sector are unacceptable, stressing that partnership will unlock funding, strengthen technical colleges, and prepare Nigerians for future opportunities.

Education Minister Olatunji Alausa also praised Kaduna’s efforts and pledged more support for technical and vocational training nationwide.
