EMIR OF RANO WARNS PILGRIMS AGAINST ILLEGAL LUGGAGE PRACTICES

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

The Emir of Rano, Dr. Muhammad Isa Umaru Autan Bawo III, has warned intending pilgrims against carrying or keeping other people’s luggage, describing the practice as dangerous and unlawful both in Nigeria and Saudi Arabia.

The warning was given at the opening of the 2026 Hajj orientation workshop for pilgrims from the Rano Zone. The Emir stressed the importance of obedience to Hajj rules and urged pilgrims to attend all orientation sessions to fully understand the rites and regulations of the pilgrimage.

He commended the Kano State Government and the State Pilgrims Welfare Board for efforts aimed at improving pilgrims’ welfare from preparation to return.

Participants at the workshop were also reminded to remain disciplined, spiritually prepared, and to conduct themselves responsibly as representatives of their communities and the country.
