POLICE NAB MORE SUSPECTS OVER OZORO ASSAULT

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban
The Delta State Police Command has arrested 11 more suspects linked to the sexual assault of women in Ozoro, bringing the total number in custody to 15.
Police spokesperson, Bright Edafe, said the arrests followed a review of video evidence and intelligence gathering. He stressed that the act was carried out by criminal elements and not a reflection of any cultural practice.
The Commissioner of Police, Aina Adesola, condemned the incident and assured that all those involved would be brought to justice. He also urged victims and witnesses to come forward, promising confidentiality.
The incident, which sparked outrage after a viral video surfaced, has drawn strong reactions from the Nigerian Bar Association and the Delta State Government, both describing it as unacceptable.
