NNPC REMITS ₦1.8TRN TO FG AS REVENUE JUMPS TO ₦2.68TRN

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

NNPC Ltd remitted ₦1.8 trillion to the Federation Account in February 2026, a sharp rise from ₦726 billion in January, as stronger revenue and tighter remittance practices boosted performance.

Total revenue climbed to ₦2.68 trillion, while profit after tax stood at ₦136 billion. Oil production averaged 1.51 million barrels per day despite pipeline outages and operational challenges.

The surge follows reforms by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu mandating full remittance of oil revenues and improving transparency. NNPC says ongoing infrastructure work and better asset management will sustain revenue growth, with progress also recorded on the AKK gas pipeline project.
