MAKINDE UNVEILS APM PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN SECRETARIAT IN ABUJA

Oyo State Governor and presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Seyi Makinde, has called for a fundamental reset of Nigeria’s economy and governance ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Makinde made the call in Abuja during the inauguration of the APM presidential campaign secretariat, where he said Nigeria’s natural resources must provide greater benefits to its citizens.
Speaking on domestic crude oil pricing, the governor said crude supplied to Nigerian refineries should be priced to reflect the advantage of domestic production rather than being treated as imported crude.
He also called for transparency across the petroleum sector, saying Nigerians should be able to understand how crude is produced and allocated and how the final price of petroleum products is determined.
Makinde expressed confidence that the APM could challenge the country’s established political forces if Nigerians supported the party’s agenda.
Bauchi State Governor and APM chieftain, Bala Mohammed, described Makinde as an experienced administrator with a record of managing public resources and delivering development in Oyo State.
APM National Chairman, Yusuf Dantalle, said the inauguration marked the beginning of the party’s campaign to “reset Nigeria.”
The party’s vice-presidential candidate, Lawal Daura, called for issue-based campaigns and urged political parties to prioritise national interest over personal attacks.
Also speaking at the event, NDC presidential candidate Peter Obi called for unity and inclusion, urging political leaders to work together to address poverty and insecurity.
The inauguration formally launched the APM’s presidential campaign activities ahead of the 2027 elections.
