The Anambra State Police Command has arrested two suspects and recovered a stolen Toyota Camry following an alert from the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).
The suspects, identified as 32-year-old Umeh Thankgod and 24-year-old Sunday Ozor, were arrested on October 28, 2026, at the Old Spare Parts Market, Mgbuka, Obosi.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Tochukwu Ikenga, said FRSC officials raised the alarm after discovering irregularities in the vehicle’s registration documents during a routine verification exercise.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the vehicle was allegedly stolen on September 29, 2026, from the residence of a 90-year-old retired University of Nigeria, Nsukka professor in Enugu State.
The victim identified the recovered vehicle as his property and alleged that his gateman, Bassey Etim, was involved in the theft. The suspect is currently at large.
The police said efforts were ongoing to arrest the fleeing suspect and investigate the incident.
