KANO HISBOAH URGES PUBLIC AND NGOS TO PROTECT CHILDREN AND……………..

Kano state hisbah board, has charged non governmental organizations (NGOs), to rededicate themselves to protecting the rights of women and children.

The deputy commander general Kano state hisbah board, Women wing, Dr. Khadijah Sagir made the call, while receiving members of a non governmental organization Boabab for women’s human rights, at hisbah headquarters Sharada Kano.

According to her, the public and NGOs have a vital role to play, in protecting the rights of women and children against all forms of oppression, and inculcating good moral values among them, to curtail societal vices.

The deputy commander general stressed that, Islam forbids maltreating women and children, saying that, the board would not relent in it’s efforts of protecting and promoting them.

Dr. Khadijah, appealed to women to develop themselves, through education and entrepreneurship skills to become self reliant.

She reaffirmed the state governments commitment ,under the leadership of Engineer Abba Kabir Yusuf, in uplifting the standards of living among citizens.

Earlier in her remarks, leader of the delegation boabab for women’s human rights, Hajiya Zubaida Ahmed Nagi, pointed that, they were at hisbah to advocate for more protection of women and childrens rights.

She stressed that, kano state hisbah board has left an indelible mark,by working assiduously to ensuring that women were not left behind.

Hajiya Zubaida maintained that, women experienced gender based violence (GBV), and all forms of violence aimed at making them feel inferior.

Radio Nigeria reports that, Kano state Hisbah Board is saddled with the responsibilities, of promoting good moral values and prohibiting prostitution, sale and consumption of alcohol, street begging and other acts of immorality.
