KANO RE-OPENS 10 BOARDING SCHOOLS                                                      04-09-23

By: Sadiq Aminu                                                     Kano state government says,preparations have reached advanced stage, for the re-opening of 10 boarding schools,closed by the last administration.

The state commissioner for education, Alhaji Umar Haruna Doguwa made the indication, during a meeting with Principals of boarding schools, held at Government Girls Collage Kano, Kofar Famfo

He pointed out that, the first 10 boarding Schools affected by the closure ,would resume operations within the 2023/2024 academic session

The Commissioner maintained that, any boarding School that it’s renovation work would not cost more than 20 million naira, is going to be reopened, to academic activities with immediate effect.

Umar explained that, government had categorized the boarding schools to be reopened in short, medium and long term, for easy renovation.

The commissioner charged Secondary School principal s, to maintain the Spirit of discipline to move education forward.

He urged the Principals to make judicious use of the food items provided, warning that, government would take disciplinary action against, any person found diverting the food for personal reasons.

Earlier, the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Education Hajiya Kubra Imam highlighted that, the meeting was organized to discuss issues affecting Boarding Schools in the state.

She called on the Principals to be dedicated and committed to their sutura, as the present administration is willing to give them all the support, to achieve the desired objectives.
