GOVERNOR UMARU BAGO CONDOLES BORGU EMIRATE AND THE GOVERNMENT OF KEBBI STATE OVER BOAT MISHAP                                                                                                         15-10-23

By Sadiq Aminu                                                          Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago has sympathized with Borgu Emirate especially the people of Agwara local government area over the boat mishap that claimed some lives both from Niger and Kebbi State .

Governor Umaru Bago in a condolence message by his Chief Press Secretary Bologi Ibrahim, described the incident as unfortunate and heartbreaking.

He urged the people of the Agwara local government area particularly the affected family members to accept the incident as the will of Allah as He does not make mistake.

While praying for the repose of the souls of the departed, the Governor also prayed that Allah would comfort the people of the entire Emirate.

He further prayed for the quick recovery of those who sustained injuries.

The Governor equally extended his heartfelt condolences to Kebbi State Government particularly Yauri Emirate, over the loss of its citizens in the same boat mishap.

A boat conveying over 20 traders, heading to Yauri fish market from Kasabo, Agwara local government of Niger State was reported to have capsized recently.

So far, six dead bodies have been recovered out of which four are from Niger State while two are from Kebbi State.

The search is said to be ongoing by the local divers and boat owners under the supervision of the Niger State Emergency Management Agency (NSEMA) Agwara desk officer.
