4 CIVIL SERVANTS RECEIVE 2.3M GRANT TO START UP ANY AGRICULTURAL BUSINESSES OF THEIR CHOICE                                                                        24-11-/23

By Sadiq Aminu                                                        Four civil servants have received a total of two million, three hundred thousand naira grant to start up any agricultural businesses of their choice.

The programme, organized by the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation in collaboration with the Bank of Agriculture and the Public Service Institute of Nigeria was intended to enable civil servants acquire skills for multiple income streams.

At the presentation of the grants in Abuja, the head of the civil service of the Federation, Dr. Folasde Yemi-Esan said the agripreneurship programme was part of Government’s drive to see workers excel, invariably, contributing to the country’s gross domestic product.

The Managing Director, Bank of Agriculture, Alhaji lawan Hassan promised to ease the loan requirements attesting that the interest was a very good offer.

Mrs Eunice Binchi who spoke on behalf of the beneficiaries commended the programme and organizers but called for a review of the loan requirements which according to her, deterred many from applying.

The Agripreneurship programme had eighty-seven participants on a two weeks training on agric value chain with four of them winning loans that amounted to over two million naira.
