The governor made the pledge at the launch of the emblem at the Lagos House, Ikeja.

Governor Sanwo-Olu, who hailed the contribution of members of the Nigerian Armed Forces to national unity and peace said no contribution would be enough to measure up to their sacrifice.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Nigerian Legion in the State, Akeem Wolimoh said the ex-servicemen had continued to provide support for the civil authorities and needed their support to continue to be relevant.

The State Commissioner for Home Affairs, Mr Ibrahim Layode said the Armed Forces Remembrance Day was an annual celebration to remember the supreme sacrifice of members of the Armed Forces and their bereaved families.

Responding, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu said widows of ex-servicemen would continue to enjoy free skills acquisition and other measures from the state government to make their lives better.

The high point of the celebration was the decoration of the governor with the 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Day emblem.
