SOKOTO POLICE COMMAND ASSURES VIOLENCE FREE CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR CELEBRATIONS                                                                                        23-12-23

By Sadiq Aminu                                                       The Sokoto State Police Command has promised adequate security of lives and property during Christmas and new year celebrations.

A statement made available to newsmen by the command’s spokesperson, ASP Ahmed Rufai says the move was aimed at ensuring Peaceful Christmas and new year celebrations in the state

The statement says the command has deploy human and material resources across the state ahead of the yuletide for socio-security and economic development.

The statement further says the command has also banned the use of knockouts, fireworks and firecrackers which might cause panic or apprehension in the public.

It also cautions that there will be police visibility at various places of worship, and event centres, and patrol to check criminals activities at identified black spots, uncompleted buildings and huts.

The statement also urges the residents to be vigilant and monitors their environment and take advantage of the Police emergency lines for distress calls and complaints through its official call centres.“
