NSCIA WARNS AGAINST ANTI-MUSLIM PROFILING

The Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) has raised concerns over what it described as the persistent profiling of Islam and Muslims, warning that such actions could threaten Nigeria’s peace and national unity.
In a statement, the council said Muslims had exercised restraint despite repeated provocations and urged that this should not be mistaken for weakness.
The NSCIA also criticised comments allegedly linking most crimes in Nigeria to Muslims, describing them as inflammatory and calling on the Federal Government and security agencies to act against statements capable of inciting tension.
The council urged Muslims to remain peaceful while reaffirming its commitment to national unity and peaceful coexistence.
