Prof. Mohammed Rijiyan-lemu, a renowned Kano Islamic cleric, has admonished Muslims to observe Ramadan fast with sincerity to enjoy immense blessings associated with the act.
Rijiyan-lemu gave the advice on Friday while delivering his Juma’at sermon at Federal Lowcost Friday Mosque in Bauchi.
He said that the sincere acts of worship during the month of Ramadan were capable of erasing sins of the previous year.
“The holy month for fasting was named Ramadan because it burns the sins of people with righteous deeds.
“Whoever observes sincere fasting and other acts of worship out of sincere faith, and hoping to attain Allah’s rewards will have his past sins forgiven,” Rijiyan-lemu said.
The cleric encouraged Muslims to invite others to break the fast with them at sunset, and gather for the Qur’anic study (Tafsir) as well taraweeh and tahajjud prayers.
“Anybody who offers meal for the breaking of the fast of another person, earns the same reward as the one who was observing the fast without taking in any way the reward of the fasting person,” he said.
He also enjoined Muslims to observe sincere repentance in the holy month of Ramadan so as to enjoy its full benefits.
