The house of Representatives adhoc committee investigating mismanagement of the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS) by Ministries Departments and Agencies of government has grilled the Chairman, Federal Character Commission FCC Mrs Muiba Dankaka, over allegations of illegal recruitment and gross misconduct.

Some federal commissioners of the FCC have accused the Chairman of alleged job racketeering and mismanagement of the IPPIS, when they appeared before the adhoc committee on the second day of the hearing.

One of the Commissioners representing Osun state Mr Abdulrazak Adeoye, alleged that contrary to her submissions before the committee, she has actually conducted a recruitment without following due process.

“The Chairman of the Commission made reference to the effect that they have not done any recruitment. It is not correct, it is false.

” Sir, there was a recruitment that was done in 2021 of 24 people by the Chairman alone. She signed the employment letters in her capacity as the chairman of the commission.

Other commissioners of the FCC, who spoke, urged the committee to critically beam its searchlight into the activities of the Commission in order to save the Nation’s employment space.

The chairman of the FCC Muibat Dankakah, however denied the allegations, saying that her appointment brought to an end such kinds of misconduct in the commission.

“Before I came to this place, they were selling slots. The place was like a market, and you can find out from people who live in Abuja if I am lying. When I came in, I met all the commissioners and I told them that they gave us the Qur’an. I don’t want anything that would destroy me or my family.

The Chairman of the adhoc committee Mr Yusuf Gagdi gave the assurance that all legislative measures to expunge employment racketeering in the Commission will be put in place by the house without fear or fervour

Mr Gagdi ruled that the FCC Chairman should submit all relevant documents to the committee on Friday 28th to back up her claim.

He also directed her to appear before the committee on Monday 31st of July with all the 36 federal commissioners of the commission for continuation of the investigation.
