National Youths Corps Members undergoing their national service in Lagos State have been advised not to shy away from seeking medical treatment under the National Health Insurance Scheme whenever they are ill.

The Coordinator, National Youths Service Corps, NYSC, Lagos State, Mrs. Yetunde Baderinwa gave the advice at the Closing of the 2023 Batch “B’ Stream One Orientation Course held at the NYSC temporary Orientation camp, Iyana.-Ipaja, Lagos.

She re-emphasised that the sound health condition of every Corps member across the country was paramount to the management of NYSC, hence, the federal government’s decision to incorporate Youths Corps Members into the Health Insurance Scheme.

She explained that so far, the scheme had provided a better access to public health care for the Youths Corps members.

Mrs. Baderinwa therefore, urged Corps members to take the issue of their health seriously so as to be able to carry out their national assignmnent to the best of their abilities.

The NYSC boss in Lagos state however, advised the Corps members that had just completed their three weeks Orientation course to recieve their posting to primary places of assignments in good faith.

She also appealed to employers of labour to give corps members posted to their organisations safe landing so that they could settle down on time and contribute meaningfully to the development of their host communities.

In a message to the event, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu appealed to the corps members to build on the success of their predecessors by contributing immensely to the social-economic development of Lagos State.

Despite the heavy rain experienced during the event, Corps members who were already drenched on the parade ground took out time to carry out the ceremonial quick and slow match.
