GOVERNOR ZULUM GAVE SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES TO INDIGENES ON SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY & MATHEMATICS

Borno state government says it will provide scholarship for indigenes of the state in the field of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics STEM at postgraduate level.

Executive Secretary state Scholarship Board Malam Bala Isa stated this at a media briefing with Africa247 in Maiduguri.

He pointed out that the initiative is to provide expertise in the field modern sciences and technology to breach human capacity gap in line with twenty five development plan of the present administration.

Malam Isa explained that candidates with admissions of Masters Degree and PhD in selected universities in Europe, Asia and Africa are enjoined to apply for the scholarship.

“The Borno state Governor Babagana Zulum has opened up post graduate scholarship opportunities to indigenes of the state in the area of Sciences, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics in line with the 25-year Development Plan and 10-year Strategic Initiative ” Malam Isa said.

The Executive Secretary added that post graduate students in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics from universities within the country are also eligible to apply.

He observed that with resumption of oil exploration in the Lake Chad and new technological advancement, indigenes of the state would be properly positioned to work in these sectors.
