FAGBEMI/AGF: PRINCE LATEEF OFFICIALLY RESUMES OFFICE……….

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

Prince Lateef Fagbemi SAN, has officially resumed duty as Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice.

After holding a familiarization meeting with all heads of boards, parastatals and agencies under his Ministry as well as Directors of the Justice Ministry, Prince Fagbemi said he was open to constructive suggestions and criticisms.

The AGF also warned that he would not tolerate any form of indiscipline or breach of protocol.

“I don’t expect a Director to come to me without passing through the appropriate channel, just as I will not encourage a junior officer to bypass protocols. If you are not satisfied with what your immediate senior does, you always have layers and address mechanisms.“

The Solicitor General of the Federation and Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Justice, Mrs Beatrice Jedy-Agba, described the new Minister as a consummate legal practitioner, prolific writer and distinguished Senior Advocate of Nigeria.

Mrs Jedy-Agba therefore assured the new minister of their support.

The highlight of the meeting was the official handing over of the activities and notes that covered the duties of the former Minister.
