MASS WEDDING: KNSG PROCURES FURNITURES, FOOD FOR 1,800 INTENDING COUPLES                                               30/8/2023

Kano hisbah says furnitures, food items and clothing materials, have been procured for 1,800 intending couples under it’s mass wedding scheme.

The commander general Kano state hisbah board, Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa, made the disclosure while inspecting items for the mass wedding.

He explained that, Kano state government had set aside over eight hundred million naira to purchase furnitures, clothing materials, food items, dowry among others.

The commander general noted that, each bride would receive a set of bed, with mattress and pillows, as well as twenty thousand naira to start up a business.

Sheikh Aminu pointed out that, philanthropists and wealthy individuals, have pledged to contribute their quota, to ensure the success of the mass wedding.

He highlighted that, 1,800 couples would benefit from the kind gesture, which would go a long way in curtailing societal vices and poverty bedevilling the society, as many marriages were postponed, due to the inability of parents to sponsor the wedding.

Speaking on the date, he stressed that, the public and those willing to assist, would be notified as soon as possible, to achieve the desired objectives.

The commander general maintained that, a criteria was set for the selection of the beneficiaries , and anyone found guilty of divorcing his wife after the marriage, would pay for the items received from the state government.

He appealed to wealthy individuals to support government by assisting the less previleged in the society.

Radio Nigeria reports that, Kano state hisbah board had organized mass wedding during the tenure of two former governors Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso and Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
