By: Sadiq Aminu                                                     Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has embarked on a first hand and unscheduled inspection of an ongoing road construction project in Gusau, the State capital.

A statement by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris, stressed that, Governor Lawal expressed satisfaction with the progress of the projects.

The project is a significant part of phase one of the Urban Renewal initiative, which commenced last month, encompassing the construction of four roads spanning 3.5 kilometres.

He added that the Governor was greeted with enthusiastic cheers from a jubilant crowd at the inspection considering the commencement of the urban renewal project, which started on the 18th of August 2023, and has made remarkable progress.

While at the construction site, Governor Lawal restated his administration’s unwavering dedication to the Urban Renewal project, emphasising that the Government of Zamfara State is steadfastly engaged in a rescue mission.

According to him, within just 20 days, the project has achieved significant milestones, including the completion of drainages, essential earthwork including the laying of laterite, the levelling of the box culvert, and the installation of the stone base course.

The Urban Renewal project in Zamfara State is the first of its kind, boasting a modernised plan and a commitment to delivering quality work to the people.

He appealed to the residents of Gusau town for their patience and understanding during the construction phase, acknowledging that genuine progress sometimes necessitates temporary inconveniences.
