KWSG TO PARTNER RELEVANT AGENCIES TO END CHILD ABUSE AND HUMAN TRAFFICKING 08/09/2023
By: Sadiq Aminu Kwara State government has assured it’s readiness to partner with relevant agencies to put an end to the cases of child abuse and human trafficking in the state.
Wife of the Kwara State governor , Ambassador Olufolake AbdulRazaq stated this while speaking at the 2023 World Day against trafficking in persons, organized by the state Joint Task Force on Human Trafficking under the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons(NAPTIP) Kwara State command, held at Stalla Obasanjo Hall in Ilorin.
Ambassador AbdulRazaq who was represented by Deputy Director Ajike People Support Centre, Ganiyu Opeloyeru, commended the agency for securing the needed support of all stakeholders to ensure success of it’s mandate.
She expressed delight that the forum will go a long way in creating necessary enlightenment on the ills of child abuse in the society.
Ambassador AbdulRazq appealed to all stakeholders to join hand in the fight against human trafficking and child abuse in the state.
In his welcome address, the State Chairman of the taskforce who also doubles as the Attorney General and Commisssioner for justice in the State, Barrister Suleiman Ibrahim that the state government will not relent in it’s efforts of engaging relevant stakeholders to spread the message on the dangers of child abuse in the society.
In his lecture, Professor Bashiru Omipidan of the faculty of law, university of Ilorin, advised parents and other relevant stakeholders to be more enlightened on the importance of protecting the future of their children.
