MIDDLE-AGE MAN POISONS DAY OLD BIOLOGICAL DAUGHTER TO DEATH                                                            16-09-23

By Sadiq Aminu                                                        Residents of Doka, Baici in Tofa local government area Kano, were thrown into deep shock and sorrow, following the demise of a new born baby, alleged to have been poisoned by her biological father.

The suspect, 28 year old Misbahu Salisu was apprehended 3 months after allegedly committing the crime.

Speaking shortly after his arrest, by HISBAH officials, the suspect claimed, to have laced tea with a poison popularly known as ‘fiya fiya’, and fed the day old baby.

He pointed out that, he drugged the mother of the baby Sa’ade with a cup of tea, containing sleeping tablets, before carrying out the criminal act.

Misbahu confessed to the crime, saying that, he prefer a male child, but his wife gave birth to a female, which prompted his to end the baby’s life.

In his remarks, the deputy commander general in charge of operations, Dr. Mujahid Aminudeen said, Misbahu confessed to the criminal act, and would be handed over to the state criminal investigation department (CID), for necessary action.

He highlighted that, Kano state hisbah board, would not relent in it’s efforts of sanitizing Kano, free of all forms of vices to achieve a crime free society.

Radio Nigeria reports that, the deputy commander general urged the public, to report any suspected person to relevant authorities, to mitigate crimes.
