ABDUCTORS OF FEMALE STUDENTS OF FEDERAL UNIVERSITY GUSAU HAVE BEEN INTERCEPTED                                                                                        22-09-23

BY Sadiq Aminu                                                                Operatives of the joint task force operation Hadarin Daji (OPHD) have intercepted the abductors of female students of Federal University Gusau (FUG) who were kidnapped in the early hours of today.

Our reporter attached to operation Hadarin Daji (OPHD) report that the troops of the OPHD who pursue the kidnappers traced them in a tick forest and engaged them in a gun duel supported by air components of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF)

Sources with the military said, so far six among the abducted students were rescued, scores of the Bandits killed and recovered rifles, motorcycles and other items.

The rescue operation was triggered following the abduction of the students from their rented hostels at Sabon gida village in Gusau.

Earlier, the Commander of Sector 1 Joint Task Force Operation HADARIN DAJI covering Zamfara and Kebbi state Brig Gen S Ahmed was seen leading troops who were advancing toward the Bandits exit route.

Residents of villages around the forest who spoke to our reporter said fighter jets are currently harboring around the forest and that they were hearing heavy sounds of either guns or explosives indicating a serious fire exchange.

Africa 247 recalled that, earlier today, Bandits in their large number stormed students hostels at Sabon gida village and abducted an unspecified number of federal University Gusau female students.
