The Victims Support Fund VSF under its livelihood and recovery programme has flagged off the distribution of food items worth millions on naira to three thousand household revaged by banditry in three Local Government Areas of Niger state.

They are Shiroro Lapai and Kontagora Local Government Areas.

Executive Director Victims Support Fund VSF Professor Nana Tanko stated this while speaking at the official flag off of twenty twenty three programme on improving livelihood and empowering communities held in Minna the Niger state capital.

Prof Nana Tanko explained that a total of one hundred household from each of the three Local Government Areas of Lapai Shiroro and Kontagora are to benefits from the donation aimed at providing succur and relef to the affected persons.

The Executive Director Victims Support Fund VSF who said this is not the first time of coming to the aid of victims of terrorism as they were in Niger state during Covid19 pandemic however explained that they are now trying to build resilliance to help victims settle in their communities.

Flagging off the distribution exercise Niger state Governor Mohammed Umar Bago appealed to the Victims Support Fund to as a matter of urgency expand its scope to cover victims of flood health challenges and hunger due current economic hardship.

Represented by his Deputy Comrade Yakubu Garba the Governor commended efforts of Chairman of VSF General Theophilous Danjuma and his team for their support and assured of his administration’s rediness to partner with individual and groups willing to improve the lives of Nigerlites.

Special Adviser to the Chairman VSF and member strategic committe Niger state hajiya Saudatu Shehu Mahadi who csutioned the household against selling the food items meant to enhance their living standard and assist them economically said they include rice beans sugar and vegetable oil among others.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries Malama Saadiya Mohammed thanked VSF for the support and promsed to use the food items judiciously.
