OIL THEFT: NIGERIAN NAVY INTERCEPTS A FIBRE BOAT CONTAINING 205 DRUMS OF PMS                                                                                              06-10-23

By Sadiq Aminu                                                            The Nigerian Navy has intercepted a fiber boat containing 205 drums of substances suspected to be Premium Motor Spirit in Igboelejo Community in Apapa Local Govt Area of Lagos State .
The Commander NNS BEECROFT Commodore Kolawole Adetuga made this known at a news briefing in Apapa.

Commodore Oguntuga said the patrol team in response to intelligence received on 5th October 2023 through the state-of-the-art Maritime Domain Awareness Facility, the Falcon Eye Alignment, thwarted an illegal bunkering activity within the Igboelejo community area of Apapa Local Government of Lagos State.

The Commander NNS BEECROFT said that the patrol team successfully apprehended a large blue fiber boat suspected to be engaged in illegal bunkering with 205 drums of a substance suspected to be Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and other products.

Commodore Oguntuga stressed that the operation underscored the Nigerian Navy’s unwavering commitment under the leadership of the Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla to sustain maritime security and to eradicate illicit activities on the country’s territorial waters.

The Commander NNS BEECROFT said the fibre boat and products would be handed over to relevant authority, and warned those who are into such act to desist from it or face the wrath of the law.
