HAMAS-ISRAEL WAR: FEDERAL GOVERNMENT CALLS FOR DE-ESCALATION IF HOSTILITIES AND CEASEFIRE                                                                                                          07-10-23

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                      The Federal Government has expressed concern about the outbreak of hostilities between Israel and Hamas and calls for de-escalation and ceasefire.

A statement by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar indicates that the cycle of violence and retaliation that the current escalation has assumed only serves to perpetuate an unending cycle of pain and suffering for the civilian population, that bears the brunt of every conflict.

Ambassador Tuggar on behalf of the Federal Government, calls on both sides to exercise restraint, prioritize the safety of civilians and give room for humanitarian considerations.

He calls for a peaceful resolution of the conflict through dialogue.
