SECURITY: RESEARCH AND EFFECTIVE INTELLIGENT GATHERING CAN CONQUER OUR SECURITY CHALLENGES                                                   11-10-23

By Sadiq Aminu                                                       Federal Government says it has identified research and effective intelligent gathering as keys to overcoming the Nation’s Security challenges.

The Minister of Interior Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo stated this at the presentation of twelve books written by the Controller General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corp, NSCDC, Dr. Ahmed Audi in Abuja.

He said the role of research in the enhancement of internal security cannot be over emphasized.

The Minister said security in the World has now gone beyond the state running after the criminals to the criminals running for their lives due to the use of intelligence and proactive nature of the security agencies.

Dr. Tunji-Ojo who said knowledge is key in curbing any insecurity, maintained that under his watch, all agencies under the Ministry of Interior must have functional libraries and research centres.

He described the author of the books and Controller General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corp, NSCDC, Dr. Ahmed Audi as a very intelligent and creative officer who has shown capacity and creativity in the discharge of his duties.

The Controller General of NSCDC, Dr. Ahmed Audi said he was inspired to write the books as a result of his passion and his zeal to contribute to the enhancement of the nation’s security architecture.

He said the idea came to him five years ago and he then decided to document some of his activities including his experiences in Yobe State during the early years of Boko Haram when his was a Deputy Commander in the State.
