By Sadiq Aminu                                                       President Bola Tinubu has approved the substantive appointment of the Acting Inspector General of Police Mr. Kayode Egbetokun.

This followed the recommendation of the Police Service Commission, PSC, which had a meeting with the President at the Villa, Abuja.

Briefing State House correspondents on the justification for appointment, the Minister of Police Affairs, Alhaji Ibrahim Gaidam, said Mr. Egbetokun possessed the qualities required to administer the position.

Mr. Egbetokun was appointed in June this year to serve as in acting capacity, following the retirement of the former Inspector General of Police, Alhaji Usman Alkali.
